Closure of Oxford Road Saturday 26th November until Sunday 4th December

Oxford Road will close again for resurfacing from Saturday 26th November and will reopen on Monday 5th December.  It will be closed between Booth St and Brunswick Street. Although it will not affect the 147 it should be noted that Booth st East and West will also be closed for resurfacing over the two weekends 26/27 November and 3/4 December.

The ‘usual’ 147 diversion will be in place from Monday 28th November until Friday 2nd December.

From Piccadilly Station to Hospitals:

Normal route to Aquatics Centre, left onto Booth St, right onto Upper Brook St (south), right onto Dover St and left onto Oxford Road, then normal route to The Boulevard

From Hospital to Piccadilly Station:

Normal route from Boulevard to Upper Brook St.  Then straight up Upper Brook St (north) then left onto Grosvenor St and right onto Oxford Road at All Saints.  Normal route to the station

There will be further disruption including more closures of Oxford Road between Booth Stand Whitworth St.  The diversion routes will be posted nearer the time.

4th January to 8th January inc.

Oxford Road closed between Booth Street and Grosvenor Street.

18th February to 26th February inc.

Oxford Road closed between Chester Street and Whitworth Street

1st April to 9th April inc.

Oxford Road closed between Grosvenor Street and Chester Street.

Corridor scheduled to be completed by 20th April 2017.

 

There are additional closures required for utility connections to the BBC development these dates are TBC but provisionally in order for them to be undertaken prior to corridor completion they are:-

Early January – duration TBC but potentially up to a 6 week closure

Brook Street closed

Late February – duration TBC but potentially up to a 4 week closure

Oxford Road closed

Mid March – duration TBC but potentially up to a 6 week closure

Charles Street closed
